This site is dedicated to the people and their endeavours in the Church of England parish of Holy Cross. It is common for organisations to become closely identified with the buildings they occupy, especially as many of their activities revolve around the maintenance of their property. Consequently, some attention is paid to the church buildings in this website. I also hope, however, that the people of the parish shine through. The parish has continued to serve the Anglican community, despite many years of uncertainty.
In October 2013, the main church building was shut due to its poor rating against the new Building Code and in 2017 it was sold. The congregation now meet each Sunday morning in what was for many years the parish hall.
Personal statement: I am not part of the Holy Cross congregation. My family has a long association with the church, however, and my parents are parishioners. My interest in Holy Cross is its social function, as a focal point for a community of people. Your feedback is welcome. - Belinda Leckie
